Project Description


Born in Donegal in 1950, Vivienne Dick is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and visual artist. She was a key figure in the No Wave movement in New York in the 1970s and 1980s. Her work explores a deep interest in issues such as urban life, sexual politics, identity and globalisation.

Dick’s work has been exhibited at museums around the world including: Tate (London), Museum of Modern Art (New York), The Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), Walker Arts Center (Minneapolis) and in Ireland, Between Truth and Fiction (Crawford Art Gallery, 2009), 93STARDUST (Irish Museum of Modern Art, 2017), New York Film Stills (Hillsboro Fine Art, Dublin, 2018)
